Deborah Rhea Seehorn Bio

Deborah Rhea Seehorn, born May 12, 1972 is an American actress. She is most well-known as the lawyer Kim Wexler in AMC's Better Call Saul (2015-present), in which she has been two times winner of the Satellite Award for Best Supporting Actress for Series, Miniseries or Television Film. She's also appeared on the NBC miniseries Whitney (2011)-2013, ABC's I'm with Her(2003)-2004, and TNT's Franklin & Bash (2011)-2014. Deborah Rhea Seehorn, a Norfolk native, was born May 12 in 1972. Her mother worked as an executive assistant in the United States Navy, and her father was an agent with the Naval Investigative Service. She was raised by a family who moved often, which included in Washington, D.C., Arizona and Japan. She followed in the footsteps her grandmother and father by taking classes in architecture, painting and drawing since a young age. As she pursued her love of the art of the visual, she found a passion for acting. She was also introduced to modern theatre at the time of her college. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Studio Art from George Mason University in 1994. While at university, Seehorn was looking to pursue a career in theater after the advice of her acting instructor. She was employed in ancillary positions within the industry of theater in D.C. to try to get noticed. She managed to land some important parts in local theatre productions. But she needed to find odd jobs to earn a living. To pay her bills, she also got roles in short instructional films. She soon started getting parts in more television productions usually in roles she described as "very humorous, sarcastic, knowledgeable women", similar to her idol Bea Arthur. The majority of her roles were removed after just one or two seasons. In May 2014, Seehorn was cast in the Breaking Bad spin-off prequel series Better Call Saul. Seehorn portrays Kim Wexler (a lawyer) and is the love-interest for the Jimmy McGill character.
