Anna Kendrick

Anna Kendrick was born in Portland, Maine, to Janice (Cooke), an accountant, as well as William Kendrick, a teacher. Her older brother is, Michael Cooke Kendrick, who has also appeared in. She is of English, Irish, and Scottish descent.For her performance as "Dinah" in "High Society" on Broadway, Anna Kendrick was nominated for the Tony Award (second youngest ever), she also won a Drama Desk Award, and an award called a Fany Award (best actress featured in a musical). Her stunning performance earned her the Drama League and Theatre World Award.She was a lead performer in Cabaret's Kit Kat Club at "Carnegie Hall Live" in Great Performances: My Favorite Broadway The Leading Ladies (1999) (TV). Along with Scott Ellis and Susan Stroman she was able to work with Jeremy Irons at the New York City Opera House. She played Fredrika in "A Little Night Music" as well as worked with Todd Graff on the feature film Camp (2003). She was the second-youngest nominee in Tony history (after 1991's Tony winner, Daisy Eagan). In Tony the past, George Clooney made fun of her as she worked with Scott Ellis and Susan Stroman at the New York Opera House. Anna was the lead in Camp (2003) and was nominated for the 1998 Tony Award for the Best Actress (Featured Role - Musical) for the musical "High Society." In 2010 she was nominated between the second and third installments of the show. September 2013: Has the distinction of appearing in three major musicals on screen - Into the Woods (2014).
