Big Time Rush
Big Time Rush is an American pop-rock
boy band formed in the year 2009. The group is comprised of Kendall Schmidt,
James Maslow, Logan Henderson, and Carlos PenaVega. In 2009, they signed with
Nick Records before moving to Columbia Records. The group appeared in
Nickelodeon’s TV show Big Time Rush. The show aired from November 28, 2009
until July 25, 2013. The pilot episode featured "Big Time Rush" the
group's debut single as a promotional track. The band has released three
albums, including BTR in 2010, Elevate in 2011, and 24/Seven in 2013. In 2014,
the band was on a hiatus that lasted up to 2021. They returned to live
performances in the studio, and then released "Call It Like It's Like It's
Looking". Nickelodeon signed Big Time Rush a record contract in 2009 and
was simultaneously airing the TV show Big Time Rush. Nickelodeon was then
joined by Columbia/Epic Label Group in order to produce the series and release
new music. The first single from the group, "Big Time Rush" was
released on the show on November 29th, 2009. Officially released on Nickelodeon
The song premiered in the U.S. November 2009 and was later aired worldwide. The
series premiered on a one-hour special preview of the series and is the current
theme for the show's opening. Promo singles, such as "City is Ours",
"Any Kind of Guy" and more were released in the course of the series.
Big Time Rush also performed a Play song titled "Famous". The song
was released on iTunes on June 29, 2010. Following its series premiere, another
song, "Halfway There", went live on iTunes on April 27 on the 27th of
April in 2010. The track quickly became the first charting song on Billboard
Hot 100. Due to sales on digital platforms it climbed to number 93. To promote
the release of their debut album, Big Time Rush released "Till I Forget
about You" on September 21st, 2010. The album, called BTR, was released on
October 11 on the 11th of October, 2010. The album debuted at number 3 on the
Billboard 200, selling 67,000 copies in its first week of release.
