Evan Rachel Wood

Evan Rachel Wood was born on the 7th of September, 1987 in Raleigh, North Carolina. Her father, Ira David Wood III is a stage writer and actor, while her mother Sara Wood is an actress and acting coach. She is the daughter of Dana Wood, a musician and Ira David Wood III, an actor. Evan and her brothers acted in the Theatre In The Park, Raleigh, where her father serves as the director. At the age of five, she was auditioning for the role of Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles (1994). She moved to Los Angeles with her mom and brother Ira in 1996 . She's seen success since and has been featured in a variety of TV show, TV film and feature films. She's been in Practical Magic (1998) and also starred in the comedic S1m0ne (2002) as Al Pacino's daughter. She followed that with Thirteen (2003) which starred Holly Hunter. Her role as Tracy in "Thirteen" garnered her a Golden Globes nomination for Best Performance by an Actress in the genre of Motion Picture: Drama and for a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in an Acting Role. In the year of her SAG nomination, she was the youngest actress to be nominated for the Leading Role category. She received a Golden Globe and Emmy nomination for "Outstanding Supporting Actress in the form of a Miniseries or Movie" for her performance of Veda Pierce in the HBO mini-series Mildred Pierce (2011). Her stellar portrayal of Stephanie Rourke's estranged daughter in Darren Aronofsky’s The Wrestler (2008) earned the attention of critics. Sara Wood and Ira David Wood III are her parents. Ira David Wood IV's younger sister and Dana Wood's younger sister. She has been trained in dance. She is a singer, loves to take a horseback ride, and rollerblade. She is a black belt at tae do. She's been in contact for the majority of her time in Once and Again (1999) and castmates: Mischa Barrton, Julia Whelan and Shane West.
