Bruce Willis

Bruce Willis, an actor and musician is well-known for his tough-edged roles or wisecracking characters in action films. Together, they've appeared in films that grossed over $2.5 billion dollars. Walter Bruce Willis, a West German actor, was born in Idar–Oberstein, West Germany on March 19 1955, to Marlene Kassel (from Carneys Point), and David Andrew Willis (from New Jersey) who resided on a base for the military in the United States. His family moved to U.S. soon after he was born. Willis was born in Penns Grove by his mother working at an establishment that was a bank, while his father, a welder employed in a factory and welder. Willis began to take an interest in the dramatic arts in high school. He was "discovered" during his time working at an New York City cafe. Later, he appeared in numerous off-Broadway productions. In one bar it was discovered that he was spotted by an acting director who liked his persona and was in need of an bartender for a brief movie role. After countless auditions Willis had a brief appearance in films typically uncredited, before being cast as the private surveillance "David Addison" along with sultry Cybill Shepherd in the smash romantic comedy TV series Moonlighting (1985). The sly and wise-cracking P.I. can be seen as an opportunity to practice for the role of the hard-boiled NYC detective "John McClane" in the horror film Die Hard (1988), in the film, Willis the character alone fought an gang of vicious international thieves inside a Los Angeles skyscraper. In the sequel, Die Hard 2 (1990) Willis reprised his role in the role of McClane. The plot set in Washington's Dulles International Airport where a group of rebellious Special Forces soldiers are trying to bring back an incorrigible South American general. Excellent box office returns demanded the sequel, Die Hard with a Vengeance (1995) with a new co-starring Samuel L. Jackson as a cynical Harlem shop owner who has been sucked into assisting McClane during a terrorist attack campaign on a sweltering day in New York.
